Hey guys! Long time no update. Have you heard about all the awesome stuff the Occupy Montreal Library is doing now!? Well, you should, it’s amazing! It is all the effort of people participating in the occupation and the camp, and it has an incredibly interesting blog associated with it: http://bibliomancienne.wordpress.com.

As well, they’ve put a huge amount of effort into their collection, and now have it up online through LibraryThing! Word is that LT is giving them free hosting for life, because that’s just how they roll: 50-deep and socially conscious. LibraryThing began by offering a free account to the occupiers of Zucotti Park, and this immediately gained lots of support (most notable via the Occupy Writers group championed by Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, and Junot Diaz). If you’re interested in helping (and I know you are, because you folks are a) library-loving and b) society-loving) they apparently need more French books. That’s a terrible situation to be in when you’re representing the Occupy movement in a French-Canadian city, so let’s get on that!

Radical Reference Montreal Chapter Mandate
Radical Reference is a collective that supports activist communities, progressive organizations and independent journalists by providing experienced research support, education, and access to information. The Montreal chapter of Radical Reference focuses on social justice and equality in our community. We are a working group of QPIRG McGill.
